Under limited supervision, this position will assist and support in the development of the Department's bridge programs. This will include involvement in the various workflow activities of bridge replacement candidate selection including, but not limited to, creating bridge inventory queries to identify bridges for the Department's bridge replacement program(s), collecting supporting information, assisting with analyzing bridge inventory data sheets for bridge replacement projects, updating the bridge inventory with current programming information, and coordinating with Department staff and Local governments on bridge replacement candidates. This position will participate in presentations and outreach with Local governments. Prepare queries for project status meetings.
The selected candidate must meet the advertised minimum qualifications to include State Entry Qualifications as well as Agency Specific Minimum Qualifications.
STATE ENTRY QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in construction management; OR Bachelor's degree in a related field and Six months of related experience; OR Associate's degree in a related field and One year of experience; OR One year at position equivalent.
AGENCY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
路 Possession of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
路 Demonstrated experience reading and comprehending plans
路 Knowledge of and experience applying techniques used in research and collection of data, interpreting and explaining reports, and organizing information in a presentable format
路 Strong computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)
路 Experience writing and reviewing detailed technical and operational reports
路 Demonstrated ability to perform basic algebraic, geometric, and trigonometric calculations related to highway/transportation engineering
路 Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills with demonstrated experience expressing ideas and facts to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information
路 Detail-oriented with demonstrated experience organizing work, setting priorities, and determining objectives and strategies to achieve them; monitoring and evaluating progress against goals
