PCB Designer

As a PCB Designer, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality PCB layouts and supporting documentation into manufacturing, adhering to both customer and internal requirements. Your role includes designing for electrical functionality, participating in the creation of library symbols and footprints using IPC standards, and performing work assignments that require independent design and collaboration with other disciplines. You will be involved in the design and development of PCB layouts, ensuring compliance with electrical, mechanical, EMC, manufacturing, and cost requirements. You will also support PCB layout design reviews.

Deliver high-quality PCB layouts and supporting documentation into manufacturing.

Design for electrical functionality according to customer and internal requirements.

Participate in library symbol and footprint creation using IPC standards.

Perform independent design and release efforts in collaboration with other disciplines.

Design and develop PCB layouts adhering to electrical, mechanical, EMC, manufacturing, and cost requirements.

Support PCB layout design reviews for electrical, EMC, and manufacturing considerations.

Essential Skills

5 or more years of experience in ECAD Electrical design.

Experience with schematic capture and circuit board layout using OrCad CIS and Cadence PCB Layout Pro workflow.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Highly computer literate with expertise in MS Office and related systems.

Familiarity with best commercial practices for circuit board design and manufacturing.

Knowledge of generating and maintaining parts libraries for schematic capture and board layout.

Experience in designing circuit boards with high-voltage, high-current, and spacing requirements.

Understanding of industry and IPC standards for PCB design and library structure.

Ability to understand component data sheets and electrical/mechanical engineering design practices.

Must be a US Citizen.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Cadence/Orcad PCB Layout Pro experience.

Familiarity with IPC class II & III standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Parsippany-Troy Hills, New Jersey.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $50.00 - $65.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
