Product Designer II

As a member of the CNN Digital Product Design Team, you are responsible for creating industry-leading user experiences engaged by millions across the globe. The Product Designer II is an experienced creative professional who collaborates with product managers, engineers, designers, researchers, editors, and data scientists to build and grow CNN Digital product experiences. This work informs and engages our users and impacts CNN's bottom line.

As a Product Designer II, you will be responsible for developing compelling experiences and capabilities across CNN Digital web properties, native mobile applications and OTT apps. This role is focused on building experiences dedicated to converting our audience to new subscribers.

Your Role Accountabilities include:

  • Executing across all phases of the design process from conception to implementation to include (but not limited to) wire-framing, prototyping, and visual design.
  • Helping drive large-scale highly strategic projects that are deemed business critical.
  • Contributing to a clear vision for the future of design and demonstrating ability to implement forward thinking design.
  • Transforming ideas of concepts into visually tangible flows and plans.
  • Delivering polished visuals based on strong design fundamentals.
  • Understanding the intersection of product design of a media organization and business goals.
  • Building collaborative relationships with internal stakeholder leads (Product Management, Engineering, Editorial, Revenue etc.) to ensure consistency with broader company goals.
  • Demonstrating strong understanding and implementation of internal design process.
  • Actively contributing to provide thoughtful solutions to complex design problems.

Qualifications & Experience include:

  • Design portfolio demonstrating strong UX and visual design solutions, with an emphasis on identifying and meaningfully solving true user problems.
  • 2+ years professional experience, specifically as a Product Designer.
  • Mastery in Figma UX software and prototyping.
  • Foundational understanding of HTML and CSS.
  • Exceptional track record to execute on product design strategy and partner with cross functional team members.
  • Experience building world class product experiences, streamline workflows with continuous iteration and improvement.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to drive user experience design, including usability principles, user research methodology, testing techniques (A/B, Multi-Variant), design theory, and interaction design.
  • Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or equivalent professional experience.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeve and get things done.
  • Take smart risks and champion new ideas.
  • Experience with news environments and content publishing a plus.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $88,900.00 - $165,100.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
