Quality Control Technician

As a Quality Control Technician, you will perform laboratory testing and related quality control activities using various instruments such as Analytical Balance, pH meter, automatic pipettes, FTIR, UV-Vis, Voltammeter, HPLC, GC, IC, ICP, Flame AA, TOC, and Conductivity meter. Your role will ensure compliance with applicable SOPs and cGMPs. You will provide timely testing and notify management of any aberrant occurrences that may impact manufactured or marketed products.

Responsibilities

Ensure a safe and quality working environment through training, awareness, and compliance with Safety/Quality guidelines and SOPs.

Maintain the department, premises, and equipment.

Complete all necessary training to perform assigned tasks confidently and consistently.

Perform all work in compliance with site safety and radiation protection guidelines.

Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of quality tasks.

Attend mandatory trainings as required by site regulatory requirements and management.

Assist with investigations by providing testing results and communication of practices.

Aid in the training and development of employees.

Essential Skills

Proficiency in chemistry, laboratory techniques, biology, and biochemistry.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve goals and priorities.

Flexibility and strong teamwork skills.

Capability to adjust to changing priorities and schedules.

High level of energy and regular, consistent attendance.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Ability to lift 70 pounds, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, reach, and climb stairs with or without accommodation.

Knowledge of wet chemistry and analytical techniques.

2 years of college-level science or an AS Degree in Science is required. A BS Degree in Science is preferred.

Experience with various laboratory instruments such as Analytical Balance, pH meter, automatic pipettes, FTIR, UV-Vis, Voltammeter, HPLC, GC, IC, ICP, Flame AA, TOC, and Conductivity meter.

Work Environment

The shift for this position is Saturday to Tuesday, 7:00 PM to 5:30 AM. You will work in a plant that produces radioactive materials, requiring participation in safety programs designed to minimize exposure levels. Responsibilities include the ability to lift 70 pounds and perform physical tasks such as walking, bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, reaching, and climbing stairs with or without accommodation. You must be willing to wear a variety of personal protective equipment. The job offers a shift differential upon conversion, which can be up to $3,000 in annual compensation, and includes holiday pay. The schedule is 4 days of 10-hour shifts, offering a longer break during the week. This role provides the opportunity to learn various standard instrumentation or methods in a pharma QC Lab, including unique instrumentation specific to working with radioactive materials.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Maryland Heights, Missouri.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
