Project Designer

Site Design Group, Ltd. seeks Project Designer in Chicago, IL.

Duties: Point person for creating graphic layouts for projects at all stages, including but not limited to research, analysis, visioning, charrettes, conceptualization, and construction. Produce design drawings in varying styles and types and with a wide range of medium and programs, including but not limited to hand drawing with pencil, ink, or marker, computer graphics with varying computer programs. Create standard design presentation templates and layout digitally and by hand to communicate ideas and concepts. Review, edit, and revise working drawings in collaboration with firm Designers, Project Managers, and Principals. Responsible for leading construction documentation of design projects, including supporting construction cost estimating. Responsible for developing and maintaining office graphic standards. Combine art and technology to communicate ideas through images and the layout for projects. Assist with marketing materials, including public meeting flyers, business development collateral, event invitations, outreach, and other communication tools. Edit and curate photographic image library for the office, website, marketing materials, and award submissions. Produce and lead design graphics and three-dimensional renderings. Support construction administration efforts, including tracking/reviewing construction submittals, participating in construction site visits, and conducting field reports.

Requires a Bachelors degree in Landscape Architecture (or its equivalent).

Requires any amount of experience in the following gained through any prior internships, work experience, or education.

Experience creating original designs and communicating design ideas through sketches, renderings, and graphic communication.

Experience performing on-site analysis, background research, and documenting site conditions.

Experience designing presentations and construction document layouts.

Experience assisting in managing and organizing project documents.

Experience assisting in marketing and proposal preparations, including flyers, event collateral, event invitations, and outreach materials.

Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, Autodesk AutoCAD, Rhino, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, ARCGIS, Microsoft Project Schedule, Sketchup, Bentley MicroStation, Rhino, Bluebeam, Revit, Enscape, Lumion, Morpholio Trace, and TopHatch.

Experience with preparing detailed renderings from specifications and instructions given by Senior Designers.

Experience surveying sites.

Experience advising on matters to do with environmental conservation.

Experience discussing requirements with clients, writing reports, and producing.
