Marketing Manager, DC Publishing

This position is responsible for planning and executing marketing initiatives primarily across book, library, and academic trade channels to support DC's publishing program. The position focuses on developing impactful marketing materials, managing trade events, and coordinating promotional efforts to drive awareness and sales of priority titles. It involves close collaboration with internal teams and external partners to ensure timely delivery of assets, effective event execution, and consistent communication of publishing priorities.

Your role accountabilities include:

  • Executing the development of all trade marketing support materials for publishing, including but not limited to sell sheets, newsletters, marketing asset kits, print and digital ads, and signage for retail accounts.
  • Managing and executing book trade events (e.g. ALA, ABA Children's Institute, NCTE, regional book trade shows, and virtual and in-person library events), as necessary to maximize sales of priority titles.
  • Supporting the Manager, Marketing in developing and distributing trade marketing support plans and updates to all key stakeholders including Sales, Editorial, Production, distribution teams, and more.
  • Contributing to Title Information Sheets for individual book titles, as necessary, and uploading into distributor systems.
  • Attending trade shows/conventions/events as necessary to communicate priority titles and new publishing initiatives.
  • Coordinating support for all academic marketing and library marketing initiatives.
  • Managing all galley and promotional items distribution including management of NetGalley and Edelweiss platforms.
  • Partnering with Social Strategy & Digital Content team on marketing executions for priority graphic novels and collected editions.
  • Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience:

Work Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of relevant work experience in sales and/or marketing required.
  • Experience in publishing, comics, and/or book retail preferred.

Education, Professional Training, Technical Training or Certification:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, sales, marketing, communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience required.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively and tactfully (both verbally and in writing) with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to organize effectively and pay close attention to details.
  • Must be able to work well under time constraints, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks and project elements simultaneously.
  • Must have excellent project management skills.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency using Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook) and Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat, Photoshop, and InDesign) required.
  • Knowledge of publishing/comic book industry preferred.

Other Requirements:

  • Must be able to travel as needed approximately 5% of the time.

Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $45,500.00 - $84,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
