We are seeking a senior in-house attorney with 10+ years of experience to support the company's global technology platform, digital products, and data-driven initiatives in a highly regulated financial services environment. This role will partner closely with the business and technology teams in development and maintenance of our client-facing technology platform and is expected to provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice that enables innovation.
This is not a policy-only role. The successful candidate will work directly with product, engineering, and business leaders to solve problems and deliver legally defensible solutions that allow the business to move forward. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative and innovative. The ability to balance multiple stakeholders and priorities is essential.
This role is expected to partner upstream with product and engineering teams throughout product discovery and design, contributing to real-time decisions on how enterprise software and data-driven features are built, not just whether they can launch.
Role and Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary legal advisor to technology and product teams with an emphasis on practical, business-oriented guidance
Own the company's global privacy and data protection legal framework (GDPR, UK GDPR, U.S. state privacy laws, and other global regimes)
Advise on legal implications of regulatory requirements affecting technology, products, and websites
Draft, review, and negotiate technology, data, and platform agreements
Draft and advise on platform Terms of Use, user agreements, and website legal disclosures
Identify and flag potential compliance issues and coordinate with Compliance to develop workable solutions
Monitor legal and regulatory developments and translate them into actionable guidance
Advise senior management on strategic technology initiatives
Contributors to Your Success:
10+ years of legal experience, including in-house experience in a regulated financial services or similar global regulated environment
JD and active bar admission
Experience engaging effectively with technology and product teams, including the capacity to understand and evaluate technical concepts sufficiently to provide informed, actionable legal advice
Experience advising on enterprise software and data-driven products, with demonstrated comfort engaging directly in product discovery and design discussions (e.g., consent flows, data models, system architecture, AI use cases), rather than operating solely as a downstream legal reviewer at launch
Demonstrated ownership of privacy and data protection legal programs
Experience with website compliance, cookies, online disclosures, and platform terms
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with strong commercial judgment
Ability to start work on an expedited basis; near-term availability strongly preferred
Experience advising on AI governance or advanced analytics in regulated environments
