How You Will Make an Impact
The Senior Applications Scientist works at the intersection of device development, sales and marketing support, and the dosimetry community. Your partnership with these teams will translate customer feedback and scientific advances into actionable product improvements and new marketing strategies.
Working with the R&D Team, you optimize dosimetry offerings by analyzing performance data, assessing novel materials and driving new device workflows into product improvements. Your contributions to cross-functional innovation initiatives will result in growth of our dosimetry applications into new markets and use cases.
Our dosimetry customers will receive expert-level customer support and training. This will be provided either onsite or remotely using tailored technical presentations delivered in an engaging manner across multifaceted audiences e.g. senior leadership, external partners, etc.
What You Will Do
Use your expertise in health physics, physics, materials science or engineering to envision new applications for Thermo Fisher Scientific's passive and active dosimetry portfolios. By interacting regularly with key opinion leaders, you will bring insight for device workflow optimization for existing customers. New use processes for emerging markets and applications will be explored and implemented.
The development and maintenance of product roadmaps will be achieved by guiding application enhancements and driving device improvements to meet evolving customer needs. Conducting hands-on experimentation and data collection with our dosimetry devices will enable product development and aid in customer-specific requests.
Serving as the technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring scientific accuracy and usability of solutions is crucial. Support provided to:

How Will You Get There?
Education/Experience:
Bachelors Degree along with 5+ years using analytical instrumentation, preferably dosimetry products with strong customer-facing technical support and problem solving skills.
M.S. or Ph.D. degree in Physics, Material Science Chemical or Electrical Engineering (related technical field) preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Capable of producing professional and technically accurate documentation and training content.
Strong analytical thinking skills, results oriented and the ability to operate independently while balancing multiple priorities are key!
Experience with product management and/or product support is a plus, particularly in a regulated scientific or technical environment.
