The Senior Mechanical Designer is responsible for developing accurate and manufacturable designs of sheet metal panels, structural supports, barriers, and conductive copper bus assemblies for low- to medium-voltage switchgear. This role ensures designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and manufacturing best practices, while contributing to efficiency, quality, and company growth. As a senior team member, you will collaborate with electrical designers, engineers, project managers, and manufacturing personnel, while also serving as a key resource in solving complex design challenges.

Education and Certification
High School Diploma or GED, Required.
Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, preferred.
Experience
5+ years of mechanical design experience in a switchgear, electrical equipment, or heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficiency with CAD design tools (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor) required.
Experience preparing parts lists, bills of materials, and assembly drawings for manufacturing.
Technical Skills and Knowledge
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, sheet metal fabrication, and machining.
Familiarity with press brake and CNC punch equipment (e.g., Accupress Press Brake, Trump Punch).
Understanding of product lifecycle management, quality control, and cost optimization.
Competence with Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP/MRP systems (AS400, SQL Server, etc.) preferred.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present information to cross-functional teams and clients.
