About This Role

We're looking for a Senior Product Designer to take end-to-end ownership of design for a key area within our mortgage servicing platform. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to untangle complex problems and create thoughtful, user-centered experiences for both homeowners and mortgage servicing professionals. You'll help define the future of our core servicing tools, with the opportunity to shape products that are central to Valon's mission. This role is for someone who excels in execution, moves quickly with intention, and is eager to lead design in a high-impact product area, even amid ambiguity.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design for a core mortgage servicing product area, from early discovery through launch and iteration.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners to deliver user-centered solutions in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Simplify complex workflows and translate regulatory and operational requirements into intuitive, elegant experiences for homeowners and servicing professionals.
• Contribute to product strategy by bringing a deep understanding of user needs, informed by both qualitative and quantitative research.
• Provide feedback to other designers and cross-functional partners, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuously raising the bar for product quality and craft.

Required Background

• 3+ years of product design experience, preferably in consumer design and operational environments. A portfolio showcasing strong design fundamentals, systems thinking, and a user-centered approach to solving complex problems. Track record of shipping and iterating on end-to-end product experiences, from concept to launch and beyond. Ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence, bringing clarity and structure to evolving product spaces. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with a collaborative mindset and attention to detail.

Bonus Points For

• Familiarity with LLM/Generative AI tools.
• Experience designing workflows, internal tools, or B2B SaaS products.

This Base Compensation pay range applies to our New York City located staff and may differ according to location.
