Associate Manager, Retail Marketing

As Associate Manager, Retail Marketing you will be an instrumental part of this ever-evolving retail world and how we go to market with our key product and brand stories. You would be responsible for monitoring the sales performance of the store and strategizing efficient techniques to sell goods and services to the customers, helps achieving both Brand & Business objectives by driving traffic and in-store conversions, including campaign executions supervisory, management of operational marketing topics including targeted promo & business initiatives, management of 3rd parties marketing activities (e.g., Mall, Wholesale).

You would also take lead on developing promotional campaigns to enhance the products' brand images to the market and reach the target audience, handle the budget and resource allocation for the project plans and ensure that the outputs meet the quality standards and deadlines. The goals are to drive consumers to Timberland stores and to ensure once the consumer is in the store, they are captivated and immersed into a complete Timberland experience.

How You Will Make a Difference:

  • Work with Retail or Wholesale team to implement the brand strategy to meet biz and brand needs.
  • Proactively interact with other functions including retail, wholesale, ecom, marketing and regional team to solve problems and optimize marketing activities
  • Responsible for developing and executing in-store visual merchandising and consumer promotions to achieve business goal through a year.
  • Develop and execute to obtain new customer at retail store and also out of store environment (e.g., digital, etc.)
  • Leverage our store associates to drive brand messaging and key product stories. Strong engagement with retail staff that ultimately leads to stronger consideration and conversion of key product priorities.
  • Drive campaign/promotion development, setting KPI, reviewing and analyzing efficiency.
  • Ensure all in-store visual presentation according to the directions and guidelines given
  • Design, sourcing and production of marketing promotion materials
  • Be a critical member of the new store opening process to drive awareness and excitement around new store openings and other ad hoc projects
  • Localize APAC VMD guidelines and manage VMD tools/fixtures in warehouses and stores.
  • Create engaging, memorable and interactive retail brand experiences that drive store traffic and incite purchase.
  • Manage budget control, maximize productivity with limited resource
  • Frequent travel and onsite visits to provide in the moment coaching, training and feedback, conduct regular store visits to ensure that Visual Merchandising standard are maintained in accordance with guidelines
  • Liaise with Asia headquarter to implement the local VM according to guideline to fulfil local market and customer needs
  • Analyze the retail market, innovative promotion methods, competitive brands and retailers and develop the retail strategy based on the analysis.
  • Review and analyze existing Club Timberland Member purchase behavior and develop effective promotion to increase store visit, purchase amounts, etc.
  • Use digital tools to bring traffic to B&M, perform as a gatekeeper for brand guideline and design.
  • Oversee ECOM creative (banners) and other design layouts…etc from branding perspective for both DTC and WHS. Be digital savvy and proactive to think of how to use brand.com for B&M.
  • Participate in ad-hoc projects as assigned. (Consumer & media event, etc.)

  • Ability to collaborate and work cross-functionally and influence strategy.
  • Recognize the impact of this role across all business functions and will be a flexible and reliable teammate, both within the retail department and within the company as a whole
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
  • Good command of English both in writing and speaking at business level (required)

Physical

  • Operate office equipment and technology (i.e., computers, phones, fax, copier, etc.)
  • Standing required for entire work shift
  • Bend, lift, open, and move product up to 50 pounds as needed
  • Travel (less than 10% of time)

Experience level:

  • Min. 5 years relevant experience in retail industry, with supervisory skill is an advantage
  • At least 3 years of VMD work experience or VMD related work experience. Brand Marketing experience would be a plus.
  • Have an understanding of fulfillment/supply chain operations, financials with an analytical approach

Educational Position Requirements:

  • A formal education and subsequent undergraduate/graduate degrees are nice to have, but we are most interested in your total experience and professional achievements.
