Site Civil Designer

Join VHB to help grow their expanding and innovative Land Development team in New Jersey. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic team, across diverse disciplines, giving you exposure to a wide variety of projects in size and scope. Our clients include mixed-use, biotech, residential, multifamily, affordable housing, industrial, and hospitality developers. This position can be based in Manasquan, Newark or Princeton, New Jersey.

Develop project management skills through on-the-job training of project management techniques and management systems through assisting with the project proposal process and determining project requirements (e.g., schedule and budget).

For a detailed segment of a project, lays out full plan designs, plan details and outlines, identifies, quantities of materials, cost estimates, and performs calculations.

Assists senior engineers with a variety of assignments (e.g., development of design guides, guide specifications, design control procedures).

Prepares technical specifications for review and approval.

Reviews and may approve design drawings for assigned segment of project.

Prepare technical reports.

Perform field tests, takes measurements, and collects field data, as necessary.

Willingness to learn implementation of integrated services projects in a team with multidisciplinary skills

Knowledge of land development construction including codes and development regulations in New Jersey

BS in Civil Engineering or related discipline

3+ years of experience working on land development projects

Experience site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management

Experience with site plans, construction documents, specification, and engineering reports

Proficient in the following: AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microsoft Project, MS Office

Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in New Jersey is $90,000-110,000. This offer is determined based on a number of job-related factors including internal comparators, skills, education, training, credentials, experience, scope and complexity of role responsibilities and geographic location.
