Estimator - Virtual Design & Construction (VDC)

Estimator

The Estimator is responsible for developing cost estimates for Fabrication & Drawing projects for construction as required by customer's documents, along with other internal and external support requests.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

• Preparation/evaluation of: BIM Fabrication packages, Material & Labor comparisons, Joint count conversions, Engineering model conversions, Material Take-Offs (MTO) as required
• Communicate estimate and scope of work to Sales staff
• Determine scope coverage and manage risk of scope gaps to Sales and Customer
• Coordination of projects with work center(s)/sales/customers to ensure project schedule milestones and deliverables are met
• Quality Control functions in-line with current department standards
• Utilize, review, and enforce the VDC division procedures and policies. Suggest updates as needed
• Coordination, scheduling, and assignment of incoming Sales support requests

• Assist Sales with presentation of VDC package quotes (as required)
• Assist in the training of others in the department
• Assist other VDC departments (as required)

Qualifications:

• GED diploma, Two-year Associates Degree, and/or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering related to Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
• Proven written and verbal communication abilities
• Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, MS Project, Autodesk Revit, AutoCAD, & Navisworks software preferred
• Knowledge of interpretating piping specification and mechanical piping drawings
• Knowledge of estimating software: Onscreen Take-off, AutoBid Est-MECH, QuoteSoft, etc.
