Product Data & Sustainability Specialist

We are seeking an experienced Product Data & Sustainability Specialist with strong expertise in Product Information Management (PIM) systems, product data processes, and related tools. This position will be based offshore in India - Mumbai and will work closely with our European teams to ensure product data is accurate, consistent, and compliant across customer- and country-specific platforms.

The role requires a proactive, independent professional who can collaborate effectively from distance, while understanding the specific requirements of European platforms and regulations. Beyond managing current product data processes, you will play a key role in preparing the company for upcoming sustainability reporting obligations such as CBAM.

Product Data Management & PIM Expertise

• Manage, maintain, and optimize product data across customer- and country-specific platforms.
• Ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance of product information within PIM systems and integrated platforms.
• Develop and implement best practices for product data governance, reporting, and quality control.

System & Process Ownership

• Act as the subject matter expert for PIM and related product data workflows.
• Use Excel and BI tools to analyze, visualize, and report on product data across markets.
• Analyze, document, and improve processes for updating and maintaining product data.
• Collaborate with IT to ensure efficient system integrations and smooth data flows.

Sustainability & Compliance

• Prepare for future requirements on sustainability-related product data (e.g. CBAM reporting, carbon footprint, recyclability).
• Identify relevant data sources and define how sustainability information will be captured and maintained in systems.
• Partner with Sustainability, Regulatory, and Product Management teams in Europe to align reporting capabilities with compliance needs.

Collaboration & Support

• Work closely with Sales Administration, Marketing, Product Management, IT, and Regulatory teams in Europe.
• Serve as the go-to expert for product data management in a multi-country context.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, IT, Product Management, Data Management, or a related field.
• 3–5+ years of experience with PIM systems, plus solid working knowledge of ERP systems.
• Advanced skills in Excel (data handling, pivot tables, reporting).
• Hands-on experience with BI tools (e.g. Power BI, Qlik) for analysis and visualization.
• Proven ability to manage complex product data across multiple platforms and regions.
• Familiarity with regulatory and sustainability reporting requirements is an advantage (CBAM knowledge is a plus).
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent English communication skills; knowledge of European languages or prior experience using translation/AI tools is a plus.
• Experience with working in an international context
