Job Summary/Basic Functions

The University of Mary Washington has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Design Services Production Manager and Campus Signage Coordinator. The Design Services Production Manager and Campus Signage Coordinator serves on the Design Services team as we provide the University with exceptional service in the management of all print production and digital designs. Manages projects from project launch to completion and receipt of samples. Management of print production includes, but is not limited to data manipulation, proofing various deliverables, and vendor management.

Required KSAs/Competencies/Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of print production processes, including specifications, proofing, and quality control standards
  • Working knowledge of signage standards, accessibility considerations, and institutional brand guidelines
  • Working knowledge of cost analysis and financial tracking for production and purchasing decisions
  • Strong project management and organizational skills to coordinate multiple production and signage projects simultaneously
  • Vendor management skills to evaluate quotes, timelines, and quality standards
  • Written and verbal communication skills to work effectively with campus partners, Facilities, and external vendors
  • Problem-solving skills to address production delays, installation challenges, and quality concerns
  • Customer service skills to respond to client requests and resolve concerns professionally
  • Ability to track, document, and monitor project timelines and financial transactions

Required Experience

  • Considerable experience in graphic design or signage project production
  • Experience in the Adobe Creative Suite, specifically InDesign, Acrobat, and Illustrator

Additional Considerations

  • Experience with signage production management
  • Experience with writing and awarding bids for print buying
  • Experience with procurement software systems, specifically with eVA (Commonwealth's software)
  • BFA in Graphic Design or equivalent work experience
