Digital Marketing Manager

The Digital Marketing Manager is responsible for planning, executing, and optimising multi-channel digital campaigns to drive brand visibility, engagement, and conversion. This hands-on role combines campaign management, cross-functional collaboration, and performance-focused decision-making.

Working closely with internal stakeholders, the role ensures that the brand and its sub-brands remain relevant and engaging in the online space, with all initiatives aligned to the brand promise. The Digital Marketing Manager leads all digital marketing activities within the OU, managing digital and communications agency partners, partnering with the Central Digital Team, and partnering with strategic license holders (Shell Digital Excellence Team) to deliver impactful projects.

Marketing Strategy and Planning

· Contribute to the country marketing planning process, ensuring digital marketing is fully integrated into brand and campaign strategies.

· Develop and present digital marketing plans that align with the overall country marketing objectives and brand positioning.

· Partnering with brand managers, sales, and cross-functional teams to translate marketing priorities into actionable digital campaigns and channel plans.

· Work with Brand managers to manage the digital components of new product launches and brand campaigns, from briefing to execution.

· Develop, monitor and execute the digital marketing strategy for the OU.

· Track, analyse, and report on digital campaign performance, providing insights to optimise future marketing activities.

· Work with internal teams and external agencies to deliver all digital marketing activities on time, on brand, and on budget.

· Develop and execute integrated digital marketing strategies aligned with business objectives.

Brand

· Ensure brand integrity is maintained across all digital channels, campaigns, content, and customer touchpoints.

· Translate the brand vision, promise, and value proposition into consistent digital executions in tone, style, and visual identity.

· Act as the market's digital brand guardian, ensuring internal teams, agencies, and partners follow the provided brand guidelines in all online outputs.

· Monitor digital brand metrics (e.g., online sentiment, Share of voice, engagement quality Score) and share insights to inform campaign.

· Lead the digital marketing lifecycle for brand-related campaigns — from briefing and creative development to execution, optimisation, and post-campaign analysis.

Campaign Management

· Design and oversee all aspects of our digital marketing initiatives.

· Plan, launch, and optimise paid, owned, and earned media campaigns (e.g., Search, Display, Social, Email, Content Marketing).

· Work with brand managers to create digital marketing briefs and collaborate with creative teams to execute on the campaign.

· Measure, track and optimise on the performance of digital campaigns across all platforms

Influencer Marketing Management

· Manage the identification and partnering with online Influencers within the market

· Work with agencies and brand managers to identify and select online influencers who align with brand values and campaign goals.

· Work with agencies to brief, coordinate, and manage influencer content to ensure brand consistency.

· Track performance, engagement, and ROI, providing insights for future campaigns.

Digital Channel Management

· Oversee the consumer brands presence across owned platforms such as website, social media, mobile and email marketing.

· Oversee the creation of new channels in line with the OU digital marketing strategy for the market

· Oversee and manage consumer brands presence across paid platforms such as search engines, and other relevant channels.

· Manage Search Engine Optimisation and Search Engine Marketing.

· Ensure consistency with brand guidelines for the Shell Consumer brand across all touchpoints.

Content Creation and Management

· Develop content marketing strategies

· Oversee and manage all promotions, competitions, incentives giveaways, and other digital marketing projects.

· Develop and manage content plans that align with always on and campaign objectives

· Brief and collaborate with designers, copywriters, and agencies to create engaging, on-brand digital assets.

· Adapt and optimise content for different platforms (i.e. mobile first approach), formats, and audience segments.

· Ensure all content supports SEO, accessibility, user experience, user journeys and best practices.

· Repurpose existing content into new formats to extend reach and engagement.

· Monitor content performance and adjust the creative approach based on analytics and audience feedback.

Analytics & Reporting

· Prepare accurate reports on our Digital marketing campaign's overall performance with actionable insights.

· Evaluate important metrics that affect our website traffic and target audience.

· Monitor KPIs and campaign performance using analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, Sprinklr , Talkwalker).

· Prepare always on monthly and quarterly performance reports with actionable insights.

Stakeholder Collaboration

· Work with product, sales, and brand teams to align marketing activities with business goals.

· Partner with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. agencies) to ensure cohesive messaging, integrated campaigns and improve Digital Marketing results.

Financials

· Develop, monitor and manage Digital marketing budgets

· Develop monthly and quarterly reports for management that provides current spend on digital marketing

· Monitor and analyze the competition performance and spend online

Innovation

· Drive innovation within the OU

· Work with teams to brainstorm new and innovative growth strategies.

· Identify the latest trends and technologies affecting our industry.

Key Challenges :

  • Coordinating with multiple internal teams, central staff, Shell team and external agencies to deliver campaigns efficiently.
  • Balancing a fast-paced workload with both office-based and in-market activities.
  • Ensuring digital marketing stays aligned with overall brand and business priorities.
  • Driving brand differentiation and engagement in competitive online spaces.
  • Managing multiple deadlines while adapting to evolving digital trends and tools.
  • Keeping up to date with fast-paced changes in technology and digital platforms.
  • Effectively using insights and analytics to shape and optimise campaigns.
