As a Home Textiles Print Designer, you will be responsible for creating designs exclusively for Private Brands and developing print trend strategies that support Walmart's General Merchandise and Private Brand goals. You will ensure that Walmart's Private Brand DNA/guidelines, trends, aesthetics/style, quality, and value all align with customer needs and help lead the market.

What You'll Do...

  • Modify, style, and edit purchased artworks to align with seasonal themes.
  • Acquire artwork from various sources (e.g., Shutterstock, print houses).

Technical Aspects

  • Use Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator to create seamless repeats and technically color-separated artworks ready for production (Vector and TIFF formats).
  • Collaborate with design team members to assess seasonal pattern needs.
  • Understand scale requirements for different product types (e.g., bedding, window treatments, decorative pillows).
  • Create production-ready files with accurate color callouts and measurements.
  • Maintain organized file structures and follow established naming conventions.
  • Demonstrate expert knowledge in adapting technical prints for various substrates (hard and soft).
  • Possess advanced color knowledge.
  • Assist in establishing seasonal color palettes, assist with color direction, collaborate with the color team, and manage the home color library.
  • Experience with AI design tools is a plus.
  • Experience with large-scale plotter printing is preferred.

Communication and Collaboration

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Support team members in executing trend and color direction.
  • Communicate clearly and consistently with internal and external partners, both verbally and in writing.
  • Maintain flexibility in workflow and organization.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and supervise up to two freelancers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in fashion, design, art, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in print textile design, preferably in home textiles.
  • Strong understanding of the print design and development process.
  • Demonstrated creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Office.
  • Familiarity with emerging AI technologies.
  • Understanding of copyright considerations related to graphics and pattern manipulation.
