Product Manager III - Data Ventures

The Data Ventures In-Store Execution team builds products that help Walmart suppliers plan, execute, and track work inside stores. Our mobile app (VOLT) and APIs enable supplier representatives to identify opportunities, take action on the sales floor, and collaborate with store associates — ultimately improving on-shelf availability and in-store experience.

We're reimagining how supplier partners connect with Walmart's ecosystem, and APIs are at the core of that transformation.

About the Role

As a Product Manager III focused on APIs, you'll own the definition, delivery, and evolution of APIs that power supplier-facing experiences across in-store workflows. You'll collaborate closely with internal engineering teams, platform services, and supplier product teams to ensure our APIs are reliable, scalable, and drive business value. You'll shape how suppliers integrate with Walmart systems and workflows.

What You'll Do

  • Own the roadmap for supplier-facing and internal APIs supporting in-store execution use cases
  • Translate business and user needs into well-defined API requirements and technical documentation.
  • Partner with engineering to design data models, integration patterns, and service interfaces that support scalable and secure access to Walmart systems.
  • Collaborate with other product teams (Mobile, Platform, Data) to ensure API alignment, version control, and lifecycle management.
  • Define and track API adoption metrics, latency, uptime, and error rate KPIs.
  • Represent supplier needs in technical discussions — ensuring APIs are built for real-world usability and integration.
  • Partner with supplier developers and Walmart Connect teams to enable third-party integrations and test pilots.
  • Drive backlog prioritization and support dual-track agile delivery (discovery + execution).
  • Communicate strategy and progress to senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.

What You'll Bring

  • 2-3+ years of product management or technical product experience (preferably in platform or API products).
  • Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON structures, and integration workflows.
  • Experience collaborating with engineering on service contracts, authentication, and data governance.
  • Proven ability to define product strategy, write clear PRDs/user stories, and deliver measurable outcomes.
  • Strong analytical skills — able to interpret API usage metrics and user feedback to guide improvements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across technical and business audiences.
  • Bonus: Experience with large-scale retail, logistics, or supplier ecosystems.
