Industrial Designer III

Position: Industrial Designer III (multiple positions available) Location: Bellevue, WA

Lead and coordinate design and innovation efforts to develop optimal solutions for the last mile delivery station through equipment specification, material flow, process design, site layout, and intellectual property considerations.

Work closely with a partner team in Engineering, Tech and Operations to build impactful products.

Collaboration with internal teams and external vendors to generate high-quality, cost-effective solutions in very short periods of time.

Simultaneously manage multiple projects and tasks while effectively influencing, negotiating, and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.

Provide technical leadership for large-scale engineering projects.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to execute the vision, detailed roadmap, and specific technical solutions to make a compelling business case with senior executives.

Hold partner teams accountable for delivery of project roadmap. Own a part of the vision of the next generation DS roadmap, including execution. Meet defined milestones and delivery dates.

Drive a culture of innovation across the AMZL Strategic Planning and Process Engineering Org.

Domestic travel up to 20 % and international travel up to 5% to perform role responsibilities may be required.

Basic Qualifications: Master's degree, or foreign equivalent, in Industrial Design, Engineering, or related discipline and 2 years of experience in job offered or related engineering occupation. Alternatively, employer will accept a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Industrial Design, Industrial Design, Engineering, or related discipline followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in job offered or related engineering occupation.

Experience with each of the following required:

• 2 years of experience working with the designs of complex automated material handling equipment and systems including robotics and high-speed manufacturing.
• 2 years of experience using AutoCAD 2D and Solidworks 3D or similar, to build concepts for manufacturing processes.
• 2 years of experience using Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, macros, index/match, vlookup, VBA, and data links.
• 2 years of experience in Capital project management - must involve ownership/management of engineering design project.

The pay range for this position in Bellevue, WA is $136,427 - $155,400 (yr); however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A sign-on bonus and restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
