At Wayve, your contributions matter. We value diversity, embrace new perspectives, and foster an inclusive work environment; we back each other to deliver impact.
Make Wayve the experience that defines your career!
Wayve's success depends on our ability to rapidly iterate on world-class AI models. The Technical Product Manager, Model Dev Platform will play a critical role in scaling that capability - helping us speed up model development workflows, reduce iteration friction, and accelerate learning cycles across the company.
This is a rare opportunity to shape the internal platform that underpins all model development at Wayve. You'll be the first internal PM embedded in engineering, setting the standard for product leadership within platform teams. Your work will directly influence our ability to ship better models faster - growing our technical moat and impacting every layer of our AI stack.
Beyond execution, this role offers a front-row seat to the emergence of Physical AI - the next frontier of embodied intelligence. You'll work alongside world-class researchers and engineers solving open problems at the intersection of machine learning, robotics, and systems. For those hungry to learn and lead in a new field with transformative potential, this is an exceptional opportunity.
Success in this role will require driving clear prioritisation, building world-class tools, and aligning tightly with the needs of ML practitioners and engineering leads. You'll need to think strategically, deliver tactically, and earn trust across disciplines.
Examples include:
Improved Experiment Velocity and Developer UX
Delivering intuitive workflows, streamlined tooling, and reduced friction across the model development lifecycle - empowering ML practitioners to move faster with confidence.
Fleet Experiment Scheduling Efficiency
Driving prioritised, optimised usage of test fleet capacity through robust internal tools that reflect model team intent and operational constraints.
Platform Cohesion and Long-Term Strategy
Setting clear, shared roadmaps across platform subteams; ensuring work aligns with evolving business needs, and that platform debt is managed intentionally.
Voice of the User (Model Developers, Fleet Operations)
Establishing trusted relationships with AI Engineering, MLOps, and Fleet Operations; maintaining a robust feedback loop and translating needs into actionable priorities.
Reliable and Scalable Foundations
Working with tech leads to drive improvements in reliability, observability, and performance across training and data pipelines, experiments, and UX.
Model developers feel supported, empowered, and move faster with less friction
Platform team execution is focused, coordinated, and aligned with model team priorities
Fleet scheduling and experiment tooling becomes a differentiator for velocity and insight
A clear roadmap is in place and evolving across the tools, data ingest, training CI, and fleet scheduling
The product function is established as a high-trust strategic partner within Engineering
This person will be the first internal product manager working within the Model Dev Platform engineering team - which supports the tools and pipelines used to build, test, and iterate on our core models. They will be expected to lead from the front, earn the trust of engineering and research stakeholders, and shape both short and long-term roadmaps for the platform.
They must balance tactical delivery (e.g. streamlining user workflows, enabling training experiments, unblocking data ingestion needs) with strategic planning (e.g., roadmap for efficient pipelines, developer observability, and long-term supportability).
To start, this is a senior individual contributor role - ideal for a high-agency person who thrives on operating with large, complex scope, and enjoys rolling up their sleeves. They will also be part of a strong, collaborative team of release managers and technical program managers who flex across product, program, and execution responsibilities. We value people who are not precious about role boundaries, who collaborate deeply, and who prioritise solving the right problems over defending turf.
Define and manage the roadmap across key platform surfaces: internal tools, training CI, data pipelines, fleet experiment scheduling
Collaborate closely with engineering and fleet operations leads to scope, sequence, and deliver initiatives that accelerate model team workflows
Serve as voice-of-customer for internal ML engineers and researchers - build empathy, translate needs, and prioritise accordingly
Drive product discovery and design improvements for developer tools and UI (e.g., Console workflows)
Identify and drive resolution of platform-level gaps, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies
Support incident response prioritisation and operational trade-offs with the SRE and CI teams
Communicate trade-offs and progress clearly to stakeholders across Engineering, Science, and Leadership
