Senior Product Manager

We are looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our growing Digital Merchandising Systems product team. You will be a key member of the product team responsible for conceptualizing, designing and delivering the merchandising systems that drive Williams-Sonoma Inc.'s industry leading omni-channel business. As Senior Product Manager, you will develop the product roadmap, define business requirements and lead delivery of innovative web merchandising solutions across all our 8 brands.

Web merchandising is at the heart of our business. This position is an exciting opportunity to design and deliver the essential tools our brands need to showcase our product catalog online and to enable rapidly evolving merchandising strategies across our digital channels. You will collaborate with brand merchants, creative and technology teams to deliver new capabilities and streamlined workflows that enable brands to easily optimize merchandising information gathering and assortment enrichment at scale.

The ideal candidate has Product Management experience with modernizing legacy merchandising information management and PO Management systems for large product assortments in an eCommerce Retail environment. Specific system experience with requiring depth across both core merchandising systems (SKU setup, PO lifecycle, costing, MDM) and the ecommerce/digital experience stack (WCM, eCom, EDAM). In addition, the candidate will have a good technical foundation, an appreciation for change management and business processes, a strong sense of ownership, and solid communication style across different audiences.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with various Business and Technology eCommerce teams to facilitate and implement the Digital Merchandising Systems Roadmap including measuring feature effectiveness and value.
  • Partner with Technical Project Managers to lead the execution of projects for various WSI brands
  • Serve as primary liaison between Technology, UX and Business teams
  • Attend project meetings and provide status reports to the business team
  • Work with the Senior Management to help define Merchandising Systems strategy and roadmap
  • Facilitate troubleshooting and resolution of daily project issues
  • Act as an owner, mentor and product category expert. Builds strong cross functional relationships by approaching all interactions with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Develop business requirements for Merchandising Systems enhancements, features and functionality
  • Educate Brand teams and Stakeholders on recommendations, guiding discussions to consensus and driving action items
  • Develop high-level business requirements and detailed user stories
  • Recommend and facilitate cross-concept initiatives and features
  • Assists in definition and management of project scope and subsequent change requests
  • Assist in the definition and implementation of new processes as they relate to new features
  • Gather, track and report metrics and key performance indicators for new features and functionality
  • Educate the business team on new application and processes related to platform and feature enhancements and ensure the team is equipped and trained appropriately
  • Evaluate alternative operational efficiencies and business process change
  • Facilitate User Acceptance Testing
  • Track and report on issues and solutions and escalate when appropriate
  • Provide support to Business and Tech teams where necessary

Criteria:

  • 5+ years in product management or business analysis roles
  • Bachelor's degree in computers, engineering or equivalent work experience
  • Experience working within Scrum or other Agile environments
  • Deep experience in Merchandising systems, specifically product information management, pricing and PO management systems.
  • Experience in organizing, planning, and executing large-scale Supply Chain or eCommerce projects from vision through implementation.
  • Ability to interface with business as well as technology teams
  • Ability to understand and discuss technical concepts, manage trade-offs, and evaluate new ideas with partners across the organization.
  • Stellar communication skills and an ability to lead and influence others.
  • Strong interpersonal skills/team player and demonstrated the ability to work with various teams harmoniously while keeping project releases on time and on budget
  • Strong drive towards execution
  • This role requires being onsite in the San Francisco office Monday through Thursday.

The expected starting pay range for this position is $120,000 - $150,000. Applicable pay ranges may differ across markets. Actual pay will be determined based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
