In return, we'll give you the trust to take risks, the tools to grow, the skills to develop and the support of a company invested in you for the long haul. So, if you want to inspire a brighter work day for everyone, including yourself, you've found a match in Workday, and we hope to be a match for you too.

The Workday Adaptive Planning product team designs high-performance Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) solutions that replace manual spreadsheets with AI-driven, active planning. By leveraging their patented Elastic Hypercube Technology, they empower finance and operations teams to perform complex, multi-dimensional modeling with speed and agility. Their work centers on democratizing data across organizations, ensuring that every department can collaborate on a single, actionable source of truth.

Workday is reimagining the future of financial planning — and this role sits at the heart of that transformation. As a Product Manager for Next-Gen User Experience on Adaptive Planning, you will own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next generation of our planning platform's user experience, shaping how thousands of finance professionals engage with Workday's industry-leading tools.

You will bridge the gap between deep customer empathy and technical excellence — partnering with engineering, design, and business stakeholders to translate complex customer needs into elegant, intuitive product experiences. This is a high-impact role for a PM who is equally comfortable presenting a strategic vision to executives and diving deep into user research to understand what truly matters to our customers.

How This Role Contributes to Our Broader VisionAdaptive Planning is central to Workday's strategy to deliver the most intelligent, connected, and user-centric financial planning platform in the market. The next generation of our UX will be a foundational shift in how customers plan, analyze, and act on financial data.In this role, you will:

  • Champion a user-first philosophy across the product organization, ensuring that validated customer insight drives every major product decision.
  • Serve as the connective tissue between business outcomes, technical architecture, and end-user experience — ensuring that what we build is both technically excellent and genuinely delightful to use.
  • Establish Adaptive Planning as the benchmark for enterprise UX in financial planning software.

Product Vision & Strategy

  • Define and own the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the next-gen UX of Adaptive Planning, grounded in customer insight
  • Drive solution design for each release based on user requirements, technical architecture, and measurable business outcomes.
  • Guide product teams toward high-value OKRs, ensuring the team is solving the right problems and delivering meaningful results.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Delivery

  • Collaborate with Workday's business product owners, customers, partners, development teams including architecture, consultants, operations, and product teams to understand their desired business outcomes and priorities.
  • Work closely with product development teams through design, development, testing, release, and maintenance to ensure quality and on-time delivery.
  • Coordinate and align solution design across multiple scrum teams operating in a sophisticated distributed software environment.
  • Leverage AI-powered tools and workflows to enhance collaboration with development teams — accelerating specification writing, technical documentation, and requirements synthesis, and enabling faster, higher-quality iteration between product and engineering.

Stakeholder & Community Engagement

  • Lead technical and strategic discussions with key internal and external stakeholders and customers, representing the product roadmap with clarity and conviction.
  • Communicate and evangelize the product area among the Workday community and at Workday events, building enthusiasm and alignment around the next-gen UX vision.
  • Manage stakeholder expectations proactively, ensuring leadership, engineering, and customer-facing teams are informed and aligned throughout the product lifecycle.

About You

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in product management, defining and delivering SaaS and/or cloud-based enterprise software products or features.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline such as Business, Computer Science, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.

Other qualifications

  • Business Influence: Proven ability to build consensus and drive alignment across product teams and senior stakeholders, using data, customer narratives, and strategic frameworks to make a compelling case for your roadmap.
  • Cross-Team Collaboration: Track record of leading effectively across Engineering, Design, and Go-to-Market teams to define and deliver complex product features in a distributed environment.
  • Customer Advocacy: Deep commitment to representing the voice of the customer in every product decision — through continuous user research, feedback analysis, and direct customer engagement.
  • Customer Empathy: A natural inclination to seek out and deeply understand customer pain points, translating them into product bets that meaningfully improve the user experience.
  • Data Analysis: Solid skills in using product analytics, usage data, and qualitative research to derive actionable insights that inform prioritization, strategy, and success measurement.
  • Decision Making: Comfort navigating ambiguity and making sound, well-reasoned decisions that balance user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility — and communicating those decisions transparently.
  • Domain Knowledge: Understanding of enterprise financial planning, FP&A workflows, or adjacent SaaS markets — with an appetite to go deep on the trends and competitive landscape shaping the space.
  • Research: Experience using both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies to identify product opportunities, validate hypotheses, and understand user behavior.
  • Stakeholder Management: Demonstrated ability to manage expectations across a broad range of stakeholder groups — from engineering leads to C-suite sponsors — with clarity and professionalism.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to zoom out from day-to-day delivery and contribute meaningfully to the long-term vision of the product, identifying emerging opportunities and potential inflection points.

Our Approach to Flexible Work

With Flex Work, we're combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.

At Workday, we are committed to providing an accessible and inclusive hiring experience where all candidates can fully demonstrate their skills. If you require assistance or an accommodation at any point, please email accommodations@workday.com.

Are you being referred to one of our roles? If so, ask your connection at Workday about our Employee Referral process!

At Workday, we value our candidates' privacy and data security. Workday will never ask candidates to apply to jobs through websites that are not Workday Careers.

Please be aware of sites that may ask for you to input your data in connection with a job posting that appears to be from Workday but is not.
