We are looking for Product and Commissioning Experts with electrical, control, automation, and instrumentation skills to join our Environment & Abatement team in Energy EPP Technology, with a main responsibility for providing expertise and solutions that enables our engine power plant business globally. The preferred location for this position is Vaasa, Finland and we offer the possibility of hybrid work.

Your role and responsibilities:

As an Expert, CSO Product within our technology organization, you will work in our team where power plants based on Wärtsilä engines together with our customer's environmental needs and requirements, are turned into sustainable solutions. You will support our sales and delivery projects and contribute to the transition towards a sustainable fuel and energy landscape. The field of expertise is broad and requires continuous learning. Your tasks are adjusted based on your individual skills.

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:

  • Ensure that our power plant CSO product (Combined Selective reduction and Oxidation catalyst) emission abatement equipment is delivered in accordance with product requirements with respect to electrical, automation, control, instruments and their interfaces.
  • Lead the technical value chain in your field of expertise including design, delivery, and documentation.
  • Maintain an overview for the delivery of our CSO systems. Support other areas of expertise with mechanical and electrical installation and process control. Being responsible for knowledge sharing related to best practices for our stakeholders, delivery organizations, quality management, sourcing, and external parties.
  • Oversee equipment configuration, develop and maintain design guidelines, diagrams, datasheets, documentation, and tools supporting the delivery and on-site commissioning for the equipment in your responsibility area.
  • Make construction site inspections to guarantee methods and tools for back-office- and on-site support are in place and are granting starting-up and commissioning of our equipment in the field.
  • Collecting data from running installations and feedback from stakeholders, analysing and documenting improvement needs and ideas.
  • Ensure your product information and data is up to date and adequate so that power plants efficiently and reliably can be offered and delivered.
  • Leading development projects within own responsibility areas and support other development projects within your field of expertise.
  • Planning and executing quarterly product improvements based on prioritised items in the product backlog.

To be able to succeed in the position, we expect you to have:

  • BSc or MSc (electrical, automation, process engineering or similar).
  • Technical background with understanding of electrical, automation, instruments, control equipment alternatively the right theoretical base and keen interest and capability to learn and develop within this area. The entrance title can be adjusted based on previous experience, and expertise gaps will be bridged through learning.
  • Practical, target oriented, focused, analytical, systematic approach with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Holistic perspective on electrical, automation control equipment and instruments to ensure that all angles of design are considered and communicated properly.
  • Good understanding of customer and stakeholder needs and requirements and can turn these into practical solutions.
  • Willingness to travel. During the first two years of occupation you appreciate learning by doing and on-site hands-on training.
  • Strong collaborator skills: you can manage a large span of stakeholders and lead virtual teams.
  • Experience in process and product development as well as project management is an asset.
