Coordinates with IT, the registrar and other information systems to ensure data flow occurs in tandem with key academic calendar dates; ensure communication with and between departments regarding LMS issues.
Provides training in the use of institutions' LMS to faculty, students, and staff.
Provides help resources for students, faculty, and staff including instructional videos, how-to guides, and FAQs related to the usage of the learning management system.
Works directly with faculty, students, and staff to resolve technical issues: troubleshoots user issues with the LMS, monitors support requests, escalates problems as needed, resolves cross-system issues.
Responsible for the implementation and maintenance of various instructional technologies:
Creates documentation and training materials for faculty in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Assessment & Faculty Support.
Serves as administrator of ticketing systems for the department:
Advises and assists faculty in designing online courses using instructional technologies and pedagogy, and in the use of the online LMS for all course types (synchronous and asynchronous); ensures compliance with:
Creates and conducts workshops and support sessions to help instructors adapt to online learning and optimize their use of LMS tools.
In consultation with faculty and staff researches and evaluates emerging learning technologies as they apply to instruction, participates in strategic planning, recommends and promotes best practices for teaching and learning in collaboration with the Assistant Dean of Assessment & Faculty Support.
Provides one-on-one tech support for students and faculty, ensuring LMS accessibility for those with limited internet access, optimizing LMS for low-bandwidth environments, ensuring offline learning options and troubleshooting common rural tech issues.
Collaborate with the Accreditation Liaison Officer to provide accurate and appropriate information for internal and external reports; and oversee the maintenance of distance learning records and files; serve as the primary contact for the college to the Wyoming Distance Education Consortium (WyDEC) and the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE).
Remain current with regional and national developments in distance education, pedagogy, and assessment and update VP for Academic Services as appropriate. Assist with training for faculty and staff on these developments through classes, workshops, and one-on-one training.
Evaluates, develops, and documents processes, policies, and procedures and recommends changes as needed to establish consistent use of the system; facilitates processes to best serve students in collaboration with other departments and remains current with regional and national developments in online learning.
Contributes to the maintenance, development, and troubleshooting of the department's resources for teaching and learning. Performs other duties assigned by the VP Academic Affairs.
Operates within the framework established by CWC's policies, procedures, and practices and ensures that all activities are conducted within the established College policies, FERPA guidelines, and other applicable laws.
